What We Teach

The Summit of the Mount Preschool uses a Theme based curriculum that allows our teachers to pull from many resources to make for a rich and stimulating learning experience. Each theme is focused on play with a purpose and crafts and activities that develop the whole child. Children learn best in a hands-on setting where they can explore and question how things work.  Our curriculum covers many areas of learning but not limited to the following

  • Social/Emotional/Spiritual

  • Cognitive

  • Math

  • Science

  • Language and Literacy

  • Creative Art

Each week children take part in music as well as daily Bible lessons.

Bridge Class

The Bridge class offers an opportunity for children who miss the cutoff date for kindergarten due to their birth date or those who just need extra time before stepping into a structured kindergarten setting. Our bridge class is a fine mix of hands-on play and structured learning activities. We use a theme-based curriculum allowing our teachers to pull from many resources to make a rich learning environment for the children. Our curriculum focuses on social, emotional, spiritual, math, science, language, literacy, and creative arts. Our goal is to give these children the time and confidence they need before entering kindergarten.
